All about the emily elizabeth gallery

Born in Texas, raised everywhere, I took my first art class when I was 5 years old. I was given a small canvas, a few tempera-acrylic paints, and a couple of paintbrushes…I’ve been hooked ever since. I have dabbled in everything from watercolors and mixed media to traditional oils and even Chinese ink drawings and I have always come back to acrylics. I know them and they know me; I am impatient and they dry quickly…their colors are vibrant and strong, reflecting emotions in a way that mirrors reality. The most random things can inspire me to pick up a brush, but what comes out of that brush is often simply stemming from the emotions of the day. I know artists are all supposed to have a very impressive list of influences…so...I adore the following: VanGogh, Monet, Warhol, & Pollock. I think garden gnomes and penguins are the cutest things ever, and I love 60’s rock and roll.

A full-time student with a 'full-time' job, I paint whenever I can, which is usually very late at night or very early in the mornings...my goal with the emily elizabeth online gallery is to provide an outlet not only for myself, but to also create a place where my fellow 'artsies' can enjoy my passions as well.
